FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Would I be better off hiring an in-house bookkeeper?

It depends (don't you love it when you get that response).

Hiring an in-house bookkeeper involves finding the right person, verifying their credentials, negotiating a salary, training and managing them. This can be costly, both in time and money, not to mention the payroll taxes you incur and the potential cost of other benefits for that employee. So, for a smaller company, it may be a better fit to outsource.

However, many businesses (especially as you grow) need personnel at their place of business to perform everyday tasks. If this is the case, we would act more as a "Finance Director/Controller" overseeing the entries performed by your internal employee and reconciling the accounts to ensure the books are kept "clean". We would schedule a consultation with you to determine what tasks you need your administrative personnel to perform while delegating the more sensitive and confidential responsibilities to Accounted For Bookkeeping, establishing internal controls for your business.

Internal controls play an important role in preventing & detecting fraud, thus protecting your organization's resources and defining your organization's structure.

Regardless how big or small your business is, all businesses need internal controls.

Should I use Accounted For Bookkeeping and a CPA?

Yes and Accounted For Bookkeeping is partnered with a trusted CPA Firm if you do not already have a CPA in place. By working in conjunction with your CPA, it allows us to provide the accounting & bookkeeping work in many cases for a more cost effective rate while still working with a CPA to handle the more complex transactions and tax issues. This coincides with the internal and operational controls previously mentioned creating a good system of checks and balances while effectively utilizing the expertise and specialties of all involved.

Please note that if you already have a CPA, we are happy to work hand-in-hand with your CPA of choice.

How do you determine your rates?

Every business has different needs, therefore all rates are customized to each individual client, based on the level of service needed.

Remember, with Accounted For Bookkeeping, you pay for as much or as little service as you need.
